After a while...
by
Veronica
Shoffstall
After
a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security.
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn...

After
the PAIN is over
by
Glenn O'Shannon
Take
me by the hand and follow through the night,
Some things you need to see will make worth all the fight.
I'll show you what it's like to feel that final touch,
The touch that says 'goodbye', but wants 'hello' so much.
I'll show what
it's like to run through endless seas,
To feel that you can fly when you reach the edge of needs,
See lovers come and go, still breed love that remains.
To give yourself away and smile when your heart pains.
You never thought
of things that you can't leave behind,
I'll open your cage, and help switch off your mind,
The heart is all you need to build worlds of your own,
Unveil your own truth, the one you've always known.

Her
love
by
Glenn O'Shannon
She looks straight, never turns around,
Her eyes are empty, she's somewhere else and not here anymore.
You see nothing, you feel the flame.
It's quiet in the room, and she hears no sound,
Except the one that noone knows about.
When you come closer to her, you feel being captured by that cosmic
silence too.
You get to know her clue.
Has anyone ever captivated her?
Has anyone ever loved her?
Has anyone ever hurt her?
What is that sound that she listens to?
She leaves you before you get to know her
Early in the morning, the window's open,
There're sun rays on where she's been.
And you long to capture her light,
but she's already out of sight.
Has anyone ever made you that much real?
Has anyone ever stopped you for a while?
Has anyone ever gave you the life?
She just wanted you to be where you want to be.
And her? She's gone for good...

Forgive
by
Glenn O'Shannon
I
forgive you for the nights that we have left behind,
I forgive you for the touch I still feel in my mind
I forgive you for the sun that doesn't shine on us.
I forgive you for the world in which we are apart
I forgive you for our children that won't be born,
For no home of our own.
I forgive you for that endless day in which we were supposed to
stay.
For no mornings,
no noons, no evenings, no nights.
No holding hands. No dreams. No future
I forgive you for that too.
You know why? Because I just love you in spite of all these things.
Did you ever
love me?
